I’ve been running into players who openly admit to smurfing in competitive 3s, and it’s really ruining the experience for everyone. It seems like the problem is getting worse, and I can’t help but wonder when Epic Games is actually going to take this issue seriously. I used to enjoy playing when skill matched skill, but now it feels like I’m just playing a casual game. Why aren’t they prioritizing fixing these basic issues instead of focusing on flashy new items?

For sure! I mostly play in the gold to platinum ranks, and it feels like every match has at least one smurf or a teammate who plays way below the rank. It makes winning a real struggle.
I get that it’s frustrating, but how can they address smurfing without causing other issues? It’s a tricky balance for game developers.
Honestly, it’s a free-to-play game, so I doubt they’ll ever fully fix this. Best bet is to just forfeit those games against smurfs and move on. Don’t engage with them; it’s not worth your time.
