My child recently got into Roblox, and every day I’m bombarded with requests to buy things priced at $9.99 or $5.99. I initially thought this was about Minecraft, but it’s actually Roblox that he’s playing on his iPad. Can anyone explain why these purchases are so costly? I’d love some tips and tricks on how other parents manage these requests. Thanks!

Roblox has a lot of optional content that can be really tempting for kids, but the good news is you can still enjoy the game for free! There are tons of free skins and worlds available, so it’s good to show your kiddy how to find those instead of buying everything. You can even upload your own skins without spending a dime!
One thing you might want to consider is playing Roblox with your kid. It can give you insight into the game and what they’re interested in. It’s also a good opportunity to bond and understand the appeal of those in-game purchases. Trust me, it helps to be in the loop!
Honestly, the game itself isn’t expensive if you stick to the basics. Let your kid know that in-game purchases are optional and set some limits. You could have them earn their purchases by doing chores or saving up their allowance. This way, it teaches them the value of money while you can keep the costs in check.
That’s a great idea! Kids need to learn about money management early. Plus, it’ll also make them think twice before asking for things.
Totally! There’s so much free content out there. It just takes a little digging. And remember, most of the stuff they want isn’t necessary to have fun!
