I’ve had my Xbox Series X for a little over a year and I’ve been noticing it making some really loud noises out of nowhere. I keep my house at 65°F, so the system should be well-cooled, and it has great airflow. I usually just watch Netflix when the noise starts, which makes me wonder how it could be overheating. Could there be another reason for these sounds?

Dude, it sounds like your console might need some internal cleaning! Even with good airflow, dust can build up in places that aren’t easily visible. Also, if you haven’t changed the thermal paste since you bought it, it might be worth looking into as that can degrade over time, especially if the console is used heavily. Just make sure to follow a reliable guide if you attempt it yourself!
Yikes, that’s a worry! Have you checked for any overheating alerts? If Xbox Support told you to send it in, then it could definitely be something deeper than just dust. Sometimes those noises can indicate failing hardware which isn’t something you want to ignore. Might be best to take their advice to avoid bigger problems later!
