I recently moved and switched from using Ethernet to WiFi with my new MSI B650 Gaming PLUS WiFi motherboard. My friend helped me set it up and said it’s a good board, but now that I’m settled, my WiFi speed is abysmally slow—around 0.2 Mbps! I spoke to the building owner and former tenants, and they assured me the WiFi should offer around 1 Gbps. Can anyone help figure out why I’m experiencing such poor speeds?

It sounds like your slow speeds could be due to signal interference or too many devices using the network at once. If multiple people are streaming or using a lot of bandwidth, that can really clog up your WiFi. You might want to check how many devices are connected and what they’re doing.
It’s critical to have that motherboard Wi-Fi antenna connected. What speeds are your other devices getting? If they’re also slow, it hints at a problem with the network itself or the router settings. Also, performance issues in games like CS2 might be linked to this slow speed, especially when downloading.
I’ll check my laptop now. I hope it’s not my PC that’s the issue!
Your 0.2 Mbps speed is really low, which could mean you’re either far from your router or possibly using a bad one. Don’t forget that the speed you get depends on your router’s capabilities, not just the internet contract. A lot of older routers can’t handle high speeds even if you have a fast connection package!
I’m only about 4 yards from the router and have installed the antennas that came with the motherboard, but I’m still only hitting around 8 Mbps sometimes.
Yeah, I live with five people too, and one of them streams frequently. I guess that makes sense!
