Hey everyone! I’ve been running into a frustrating issue with The Sims 4 on my gaming laptop. Recently, the game has started to lag significantly while I’m playing. It launches fine, but after a few minutes, it goes into almost slow-motion mode for a bit before returning to normal, and then it just repeats this cycle. I’ve done some troubleshooting by clearing my caches, repairing the game via the EA app, and even lowering my graphics settings, but nothing seems to help. I initially thought it might be due to my legacy save file since I have a lot of saves and Sims, but it happens with other files too. I also have a huge mods folder full of script mods (like a deep indigo, pandasama, WW, and MC) and I’m using Gshade. Could any of this be causing the issue? Would really appreciate any suggestions! Thanks! 😢🙏

Oh, and having all the DLCs can also affect performance – especially if your laptop isn’t high-end. Keeping an eye on your mod usage could help.
It sounds like your laptop might be struggling with memory management. While I have a 1TB SSD and still experience occasional lag, having limited RAM could be the issue here. Just make sure your system has enough memory to support all of Sims 4’s requirements alongside the mods you’re using.
If you can upgrade to more RAM, that would definitely help with performance. When I increased mine, I noticed a huge improvement in load times, even with numerous mods and all DLCs. It’s all about how much the game has to manage at once!
Given your extensive mods folder, that’s likely a significant factor in the lag. The game has to load all those extra files, which can slow things down, especially if you have a lot of content installed. Try disabling some mods to see if it helps!
Just to clarify, memory and storage are different. It sounds like upgrading your RAM could really help!
