I recently had my PS5 cleaned by a professional and they applied new thermal paste, but I’m still having issues. After just one game of Fortnite, the console turned off unexpectedly and felt really hot. What could be causing this?

Honestly, sounds like you might have gotten a bit ripped off. The PS5 doesn’t really use thermal paste at all, which raises a red flag about that repair. I’d consider asking for a refund if they didn’t do it right!
Have you tried placing your PS5 horizontally instead of vertically? Sometimes positioning can affect how well it cools, especially if there’s not enough space around it.
So, the PS5 actually uses liquid metal for cooling instead of thermal paste. If the repair used thermal paste, that might be why it’s overheating. Also, can you check if the fan is spinning when you power it on? That could be another clue.
