I noticed that my PS Plus subscription ended yesterday because I couldn’t afford to renew it. I received a notification about a failed charge from my bank, confirming that I haven’t paid for a renewal. However, when I logged in today, I found that I still have access to all my PS Plus content. I’m really confused because I have checked with my mum, and her card linked to my wallet didn’t get charged either. Can someone explain what’s going on?

It sounds like you might be benefiting from a grace period that Sony offers. Sometimes they extend access for a few extra days after a subscription expires, especially if there were issues like server outages. You’re probably still getting that free access before it fully cuts off.
From what I’ve seen, they really did extend subscriptions for quite a few users lately. So, unless you get charged, enjoy your time while it lasts! But do check your wallet, just in case.
You might also be seeing the effects of that PSN outage they had last month. They gave everyone a 5-day extension, so if your subscription expired around that time, it could be linked. Just keep an eye out for any attempts to charge you again.
I had a similar experience where my subscription seemed to linger after it expired – pretty sure it’s their way of trying to keep you from leaving. They sometimes give up to a month before completely disabling it. Just be prepared for it to end eventually!
