Why is my PC hot on top but cool air coming from the back?

-

I’ve noticed that the top part of my PC gets pretty hot when I’m gaming, but the air blowing out from the rear is only warm. Is this difference in temperature normal, or is something off with my setup?

Yeah, that sounds normal to me. As long as your temps aren’t hitting critical levels and the system isn’t shutting down, you should be fine. You could always add more fans or adjust your cooling setup if it worries you.

It’s actually quite common for desktops to have this kind of temperature difference. The components inside can generate a lot of heat, and the airflow design can make the parts hotter even while the exhaust air feels okay. Just make sure your fans are working and consider checking for dust build-up that might be blocking airflow.
