I just got my Xbox for Christmas, but it’s been running super slow. It takes forever to turn on and won’t let me open any games. It’s not overheating, and there are no updates pending. I’ve tried resetting it, unplugging and plugging it back in multiple times, and looked up solutions, but nothing fixes it. My brothers have the same model and don’t have these problems. The issue started when I kept getting lagged out or couldn’t join Fortnite games for school. At first, I thought it was just Fortnite, but now it’s happening with all games. I’m really frustrated and hoping for any advice to get this sorted. Please don’t think I’m just complaining—I’m genuinely stuck here. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a hardware problem might be causing your slowdown, especially since your brothers’ consoles are fine. Have you considered checking if the hard drive is failing? Sometimes, a dodgy hard drive can make the system sluggish or even prevent games from loading properly. If you haven’t replaced or tested your hard drive yet, that could be a good next step.
It’s good that you’re ruling out overheating and updates. Since resetting and unplugging haven’t worked, maybe the power supply might be acting up. Some people have experienced slow performance followed by their Xbox not turning on at all, which ended up being related to power supply issues. You might want to test with a different power outlet or check if your power brick feels unusually hot or noisy.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely look into checking the hard drive next.
