I recently replaced my old PlayStation 5 because it was overheating. However, the new PS5 I got is lagging a lot, even though the old one would still run fine when I cooled it down by opening a window. I’m not sure why the new console is having these performance issues. Has anyone experienced this or have any advice on what might be causing it?

It sounds frustrating! One thing to consider is that your new PS5 might be running some background updates or downloads that slow it down at first. Also, double-check that the system software is fully updated and that it’s positioned in a well-ventilated spot. Overheating can definitely cause lag, so even a brand new unit might need proper airflow to perform smoothly.
Sometimes consoles can get dusty inside and that causes overheating or lag. Even though your new PS5 is fresh, maybe it has some manufacturing issue or fan problem that’s making it run slow. Definitely worth checking if there’s any blockage or dust inside, or if the system’s cooling is functioning properly.
