Hey everyone! I just picked up Minecraft again after about four years and I wanted to enhance my experience with shaders. However, when I launched the game, it was pretty laggy, so I decided to disable the shaders. Unfortunately, that didn’t help at all. I have a pretty solid setup with an RTX 4060 Ti (6GB), 32GB of RAM, and a Ryzen 5 5500, so I wouldn’t expect performance issues, even with shaders. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing the lag?

If you’re using OptiFine, I suggest you switch to Sodium and Iris mods instead; they typically offer better performance with the newer versions of Minecraft. Also, check the memory allocation—tweaking it from the default 2GB to around 4-6GB could really help when running shaders. Give that a shot!
I appreciate it! I’ll try increasing the memory too.
Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely give Sodium a go.
