I’m experiencing some frustrating frame rate issues while playing The Last of Us Part 2 Remaster. My setup includes an RTX 4060, a Ryzen 5600G, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD, so I’m not sure if it’s my rig that’s having trouble or what. I keep seeing my frames fluctuate between 60 and 50 FPS, and even when I enable DLSS, I don’t notice any real change. Could this be related to a shader compilation issue or perhaps a CPU bottleneck?

At 1080p on the highest settings, an RTX 4060 generally hits around 60 FPS, so your experience sounds pretty normal. If toggling settings or switching on DLSS doesn’t change anything, it’s likely that your CPU is holding you back. Could be worth checking.
Come on, 8GB of VRAM is starting to show its age. Many content creators warned against buying the 4060 for that reason. You could’ve opted for a better option with more VRAM, like a 12GB or 16GB card from other brands.
Honestly, I think the GPU performs well for the price I got it at. In my country, the RTX 4060 is about $220, so I think I did alright.
Yeah, if DLSS isn’t helping, it’s probably a CPU or VRAM bottleneck. It’s crucial to check if your system can handle it, especially with VRAM limits.
I think it might be a CPU bottleneck too. I tried lowering performance settings, but I didn’t see any improvements, which points to the CPU being the issue.
I’ve noticed frame drops during cutscenes, but everything smooths out as the scene transitions back to regular gameplay. It could be tied to how the game handles certain moments.
