I have a pretty solid laptop with an RTX 3060 and an Intel i7 8-core processor, though I might need to verify some of the other specs. With these specs, I expected to run games well, especially considering that the maximum requirements are generally lower (like 1080p and an i5). However, I’m struggling to keep my frame rate above 30fps. When I’m standing still, my fps can reach over 45, but as soon as I start moving, it drops drastically to between 5 and 15 fps. This issue persists no matter what graphics settings I tweak.

I don’t think your graphics card is the problem here. More likely, it’s a software issue. Have you considered turning off V-Sync? It’s known to be buggy and can really drop your fps. Also, check if there are too many unnecessary objects loaded in your game – you can clear them using the console command `cleartrash` to help improve performance.
Have you checked how much RAM you have? Your GPU and CPU should be fine for a few more years, but if you’re low on RAM, that could really limit your gaming performance.
How do I check my RAM? I didn’t mean to suggest my specs are the best; I just thought they were solid for the games I want to play.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely give that a shot!
