I’m noticing that my FPS in Valorant tends to be around 350-400, and when I’m just staring at a wall without moving, it can go up to 450-500. However, some of my friends with 3080 laptops are getting scores between 700-800 FPS. I have a 6800 XT, a 7700X processor, and 32GB of RAM. What could be causing this difference in performance?

Also, if your temps are around 70-80 degrees, that’s fine. But keep an eye on your power limits and see if you’re hitting any thermal throttling. Just curious why you’re aiming for 800-900 FPS – your setup is solid, so tweaking some settings might help.
What are your friends’ CPU models and what resolutions are they using? There are tons of variables that affect FPS like graphics settings and temperatures. Just comparing hardware specs isn’t enough; their overall setup might be more balanced for gaming. It’s possible the 6800 XT, despite being powerful, lags behind the 3080 in some scenarios.
You might have a bad overclock on your GPU or CPU. That can definitely affect your performance. If you’re overclocking, try resetting to stock speeds and see how it goes.
There are a lot of factors that can mess with your FPS like graphic settings, resolution, and even power limits. Make sure you’ve got the right settings, check your drivers, and see if your OS is optimized for gaming.
