I’m running a Dell Latitude laptop with the latest Ubuntu version and using the Sniper Runtime tool for TF2 and Proton 9 with Cookie Clicker. I only play these two games and don’t have others installed. However, I notice that if I leave my laptop on while gaming, it crashes after a few hours, causing my cursor to freeze, and the restart option stalls indefinitely until I perform a hard reset. This laptop is relatively new and under warranty for a few more years. The crashes happen with WiFi off as well, and I’ve limited Steam’s background activity through its settings. I’m tired of having to restart my computer constantly, and I want to avoid losing documents due to these crashes. If more specs are needed, I’m happy to provide them for troubleshooting!

Have you considered trying a different Linux distribution? Sometimes issues can stem from the current distro you’re using. From my experience, certain laptops can have compatibility problems with drivers.
I haven’t switched distros yet. Do you think that could really help?
