Hey everyone! I just re-downloaded Apex Legends, but I’m running into a problem where my CPU temperature spikes to 90°C while I’m in the menu. It’s strange because I can play other games without this issue. I recently replaced my fans, and there was a noticeable improvement, but for some reason, Apex is still overheating. I even tried installing it through Epic Games instead of Steam, but the issue persists. Does anyone have any tips or fixes for this?

So, after a game client update or a GPU driver update, Apex will load shaders for all the maps in your rotation. This can stress your CPU initially, but it should calm down once the shaders are loaded for each new map. My temps get into the mid to high 70s during loading, but they drop into the low 60s afterward. Also, you can limit the menu FPS with the command +lobby_max_fps 90 to help reduce temps.
Have you thought about updating your chipset or GPU drivers? Sometimes that’s all it takes to resolve these overheating issues.
I’m pretty sure I tried that last time, but I’ll double-check. What platform are you on?
My FPS is stuck at 60, which should be fine. I get the shader loading part, but it still runs hot even after it finishes. Does it load more after the dedicated screen? That seems off.
