I’ve been playing Marvel Rival, and I’ve noticed a major issue: the game runs fine for the first match, but after that, it starts to stutter because it uses up all of my 16GB of RAM. I’ve never experienced this with any other games before. My CPU and GPU loads are both under 60%—I have a 3060 graphics card and an Intel i5-12500K processor. Even when I lower the display settings to the minimum and reduce rendering to around 10%, making the game look like Minecraft, I still face constant stuttering. I’m wondering if it’s because I installed the game on a separate SSD that I bought. By the way, I had to post here because the Marvel Rival subreddit bans tech support questions for some reason.

It sounds like your RAM might be a bottleneck, especially since 16GB is starting to feel cramped with newer games. Have you checked if you’re using single-channel or dual-channel RAM? Also, the RAM speed and generation can make a difference. Consider upgrading to a 32GB kit if possible—it fixed the issue for me, and it was pretty affordable too.
It’s not just RAM that’s the issue—your GPU and monitor could also play a role. Make sure your GPU has at least 8GB of VRAM; otherwise, it’s worth thinking about an upgrade. Also, check your monitor’s refresh rate and HDR capabilities, especially if you’re into competitive games. These factors can affect performance.
You’re not alone in this. I also found that Marvel Rival consumes an excessive amount of RAM, sometimes even over 20GB, regardless of settings. It seems like there’s possibly a memory leak issue. Keep an eye on your RAM usage and consider getting more memory if it continues to be a problem. I upgraded to 64GB, and that has helped significantly.
