Why is it so hard to escape Silver rank in Onslaught?

-

I feel like climbing out of Silver in Onslaught is a nearly impossible feat! It’s really frustrating when teammates don’t grasp the importance of focus firing and managing HP effectively. I mean, how hard can it be? This game mode seems simple, yet so many players make it seem overwhelmingly difficult.

From what I’ve seen, the gameplay dynamics really change below Gold rank. You can’t rely on your teammates much at Silver and below, so sometimes you have to look out for yourself instead. Once you hit Gold, your team starts performing better even if you’re not doing much damage yourself, so it’s definitely a different ballgame up there.

I was in the same boat last season—never thought I’d struggle so much. I was usually in the top three of my team but ended up just losing non-stop. It’s rough!

Here’s the strategy that worked for me to push to Gold:

1. Avoid playing Onslaught in the first week of the season. The meta tends to shift and players are still figuring things out, leading to more uneven matches.

2. Test the waters in the second week. Play a few matches and if you hit a losing streak, take a break for a day.

3. The last week of the season is crucial! Most skilled players will have moved on, leaving less challenging opponents. This is when you really want to make your big push.

4. Sometimes, you can sway teammates by pretending to pick a less popular tank right before the match starts, which might encourage them to select something better.

Overall, patience is key in Onslaught—don’t force it,and focus on minimizing your losses. As long as you win slightly more than you lose, you’ll eventually make it to Gold!

I hear you! I’m stuck in Bronze C right now, and I definitely know I’m part of the problem. I just can’t seem to get the hang of using the right tanks. I usually prefer IS4 and 121B, but I guess I’m making it harder for myself.

Honestly, the choice of abilities matters more than the tank itself. You can still do well even with lower-tier tanks as long as you pick those that stack well, like crew skill boosts or others that enhance your damage per minute.

IS4 is legit a decent tank, though! Don’t beat yourself up too much.
