I just got a new Steam Deck OLED and wanted to ask for some game recommendations, but it feels like I have to write an entire essay about my life and finances first! Why does it have to be so complicated? Can’t I just ask for advice without jumping through so many hoops?

Honestly, it can be a little frustrating. This subreddit has its rules, and they try to avoid tons of repeat questions. If you search a bit, you’ll find plenty of recommendations already floating around. But it’s understandable to feel overwhelmed by all those rules!
I feel you, OP. I recently had a post removed by the automod that seemed totally legit to me. Sometimes it feels like they don’t offer clear alternatives for what you’re asking. It’s a bit of a maze to navigate!
Right? The auto mod can be super annoying. If they just had a better way to compile common questions, all this would be much less of a hassle!
There’s a weekly thread for recommendations, so that’s usually your best bet! If you post there, your chances of getting replies are much higher. And hey, if you haven’t tried “Kingdom Come: Deliverance,” you might really enjoy it—just throwing that out there!
Yeah, I get that. It seems like every sub has its own culture, and sometimes they can be a pain. Maybe just look for a specific thread dedicated to it!
