I’m curious why green dye is so rare compared to other dyes in Minecraft. It seems like the only way to get it is by finding cacti, and you can’t just mix yellow and blue dye in a crafting table like you would for purple dye. Also, since purple dye is made from seashells in real life, shouldn’t that be the rarest dye instead?

And let’s be real, “stupid cacti” isn’t a thing in the game! Just cacti. Still, I agree that it should definitely be craftable—would make things so much easier!
Honestly, I think cacti are easier to farm than black dye materials. Once you find a spot, they grow pretty quickly, and you can leave them to grow while you do other things in the game! But yeah, it would be cool if green dye could be crafted from other colors too.
Getting cactus isn’t that tough, you can find them in deserts pretty easily! If you’re having trouble, just trade with a wandering trader to get some. Once you have a few, set up a cactus farm and you’ll have all the green dye you need in no time. It just takes a bit of searching and preparation!
Me and my brother have spent a good month searching for a desert and we haven’t found one yet.
