I’ve noticed something really strange with my gaming experience. When I play Fortnite on my Xiaomi 12, which has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and 8GB of RAM, the performance is actually worse than on my older LG G8S ThinQ. The LG is from 2019, with a Snapdragon 855 and only 6GB of RAM, yet it runs the game at around 50-60fps while the Xiaomi struggles between 40-55fps. How can it be that the newer flagship phone is performing worse?

It’s kind of baffling, right? Many players have noticed that performance can vary greatly depending on the optimization of the game for different devices. Sometimes, just because a phone has better specs doesn’t mean it will perform better if the game isn’t optimized for it. Have you tried checking your in-game settings? Lowering them might help with that frame drop on your Xiaomi.
Yeah, I think some games just run better on older hardware that’s been well-optimized. It’s all about the synergy between the hardware and the software!
