Hey everyone! I’ve been wondering something and thought I’d bring it up here. Why don’t more PS5 games support keyboard and mouse input? The console definitely supports it, as I can just plug my KBM setup in without any issues. There are a number of games like Fortnite, Call of Duty, Overwatch, War Thunder, and Final Fantasy XIV that allow this, so it’s not impossible. Yet, many games are still acting as if we’re in 2010.
What’s really frustrating is when a game has full keyboard and mouse support on PC but then blocks it on PS5. I just want the basic functionality! I get that most players use controllers, but there’s a substantial number of us who prefer a keyboard and mouse setup, especially for shooters, strategy games, or anything that requires precise aiming.
At the very least, developers could provide the option without worrying about balancing the gameplay for KBM users. Does anyone else feel the same way, or am I just a lone wolf here? Let me know if there are any specific games you wish had KBM support!

If you love KBM so much, maybe just stick to PC? I get the price point with PS5 being cheaper, but it’s still a big ask for the console crowd.
I think KBM support should at least be an option for specific genres. Strategy games like Civilization feel awkward on a controller, and it would be nice for single-player use.
Exactly! We should at least have options for those types of games.
Honestly, there just isn’t enough demand for KBM in most console games. The ratio of people wanting this feature is really low compared to the total console player base, so developers are hesitant to invest resources into it.
Using ‘this is the current year’ as a point doesn’t really mean much. Sure, the technology is there, but the PS5 might not be optimized for widespread KBM support in all games without complications.
I get that. Some games might struggle with such a switch, but it’s kind of wild that there are games like Doom that clearly support it on PC but skip it on console.
I totally get where you’re coming from, but a lot of players prefer to avoid going against KBM users in competitive settings. It’s a different skill set that can throw off the balance, especially if you don’t have much time to practice.
Sounds like a skill issue.
True! But there are plenty of games where KBM could really enhance the experience, right? Like Minecraft. It’s a whole different vibe!
Not everyone wants to invest in that, especially when the PS5 is such a good deal for what you get.
