Has anyone else noticed how underwhelming the .50 cal feels? I mean, it’s a massive round that should theoretically obliterate anything in its path, but it often performs like a toy gun. Doesn’t it seem like it should deal way more damage given the size of the ammo? What are your thoughts?

While it’s not the top dog in DPS, I’ve been able to hit over 500 damage with my hunting rifle variant. If you mod it right, you can really make it work! But I get it, sometimes the .50 just feels like it could hit harder, especially with the right setup.
Yeah, it might not be the king of damage, but I love using my explosive version for fun. It’s wild tagging enemies and watching them blow up at events! It’s definitely a blast to use, so I can’t complain too much.
I think something’s off with how ammo spawns in the game. .50 cal feels more common than it should be, which might impact balance. I’d love if they adjusted that to make it feel more powerful and rare, but then again, it’s an RPG, so everything has to be balanced for playability!
Honestly, the .50 cal has a solid spot in heavy builds now with the recent updates. It’s all about finding the right perks and mods to boost your damage. If you haven’t respec’d your build lately, you might want to look into it — I’ve seen great results!
I hear you! If we’re being realistic, a .50 cal would be heavy and awkward to handle, which is probably why it doesn’t hit as hard in the game. The physics are a bit goofy in regards to how you can fire it so easily without power armor. Honestly, it should shred through everything but somehow just doesn’t. But hey, it’s a game, right?
