I’ve been playing Sims 4, and I’m experiencing some frustrating game freezes. I started a new sim and played for about 2 minutes when I tried to pin one of her wants; the game just froze up. I could still hear the clicking sound, but nothing happened on the screen. I had to use task manager to close it, and when I reopened the game, it froze again while I was in build mode selecting a bookshelf. I used alt+f4, but it didn’t prompt me to save like it usually does. To troubleshoot, I repaired the game via the EA app and cleared my cache, but it still froze after about 5 minutes. I cleared my cache before I started playing, but I’m unsure if that could be the culprit. Also, I don’t use any mods, and it never crashes on its own; I have to force it to close.

It sounds like your game might have issues related to save files or system specs. Even if you don’t use mods, sometimes old saves can get corrupted. Have you tried starting a completely new save file to see if that helps? If the issue persists, it might be worth checking if your system meets all the requirements for the latest Sims 4 updates.
I created a new save file, and it let me play for about 30 minutes before it froze again.
