I’ve been having a frustrating issue with my PS5 where it can just shut off completely while I’m in the middle of playing games. It’s happened with a few different titles, and there are no overheating alerts or anything. The console doesn’t even feel too warm when this happens. I actually have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to work again. Has anyone experienced this or know what could be going wrong?

It sounds like a pretty frustrating situation! [Laughs] From my experience, when a PS5 just shuts off unexpectedly, it might not always be an overheating issue. First things first, check how your console is plugged in. Make sure it’s directly to a wall outlet instead of using a power strip; those can mess with power delivery. Also, ensure that your power cable is snug and undamaged. If you’re unsure, try swapping it with another one if you can.
Beyond that, it’s good to make sure your system software is up to date. Those updates can sometimes fix bugs that lead to issues like yours. You could also try booting into Safe Mode to rebuild the database without losing anything—might sort some things out! If all else fails, a factory reset could be your last resort, just make sure to back up your save data first! If nothing helps, consider reaching out for repairs if you’re still under warranty.

That’s solid advice! I had a similar issue once but it turned out to be a loose power cable. Always good to check these basics first!
