Hey everyone, I’m having an issue with my PS5 where it just shuts off completely while I’m playing Insurgency Sandstorm. This has happened a couple of times now, and the only way to turn it back on is by unplugging it and plugging it back in. It tends to happen roughly every two hours. I did some cleaning today because it was pretty dusty—removed the plates and cleaned out the fans, but I’m not sure if I did something wrong or if it just needs to cool down. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Yeah, it seems like cleaning out your PS5 is key here. I faced the same issue while playing Monster Hunter Wilds. It’s likely that the power supply vents were clogged, which prevented the usual overheating warning from showing up. So definitely consider giving it a thorough clean!
It sounds like a deep clean might be in order for your PS5. I had a similar problem where mine would shut off while gaming, and after I cleaned out the dust buildup from the power supply and heat sink, it worked fine again. I even replaced my fan, but that’s optional. Just take your time and look up some guides to help with the process!
