I’ve been having this frustrating issue with my PlayStation where it just turns off without warning. I recently upgraded to a new power cable, but it still happens. It’s not even hot when it shuts down, and I’ve cleaned the console recently. At first, it would only turn off once a month, but now it’s happening several times a day. Any suggestions on what might be causing this or how to fix it?

You might want to check the power outlet where your PS is plugged in. Sometimes it’s not just the cable but the outlet itself. Also, make sure there’s enough space around your console for proper airflow. If you bought that new power cable from a reputable shop, that’s a good start!
If you’re using a PS4, the issue could be that the thermal paste has dried up. For PS5 users, it might be that the liquid metal is getting old. Either way, keeping your console clean is great, but thermal issues can sometimes be the culprit too.
Is it actually turning off, or could it just be going into sleep mode? If it’s turning off, check your settings for CEC, which makes your PS turn on with the TV. That might be causing it to go to sleep unexpectedly.
Do you smoke around it? Sometimes that can cause issues with dust or overheating. Just curious, since keeping the area clean can help a lot.
Yeah, I got the cable from a reliable seller. I haven’t tried switching outlets yet, so I’ll give that a shot!
