Why does my PC keep shutting down while playing WoW?

I’ve been experiencing random shut downs on my Asrock PC while playing World of Warcraft, and it’s happened three times now. I’ve owned the computer for over a year, and I realized I’ve never updated my BIOS. Should updating the BIOS be my first step in trying to fix this issue?

Another possibility could be overheating. I’ve had instances where my CPU overheated and caused random shutdowns. Make sure your cooling system is working well and that your PC isn’t getting too hot.

It’s hard to pinpoint the exact cause without more details, but if you’re using a 13th or 14th gen Intel chip, you should really have updated your BIOS by now. Delaying that can lead to performance issues or malfunctions. So yes, definitely consider updating your BIOS as a potential first step. Just make sure to research how to do it properly with a USB stick!
