I’ve been playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and my character Henry has this awful stench that keeps ruining my sneak attempts. Guards and NPCs frequently comment on how bad he smells. I’ve washed and repaired all my clothes multiple times, visited the bathhouse wearing all outfits, checked for spoiled food and debuffs, and even tried using flowers for flower power, but nothing helps. I don’t currently have perfume, and it feels unfair that I should have to rely on it just to smell normal. Has anyone else experienced this bug or found a way to fix it? It’s really hurting my gameplay experience.

Sounds frustrating! Another thing to consider is that sometimes quests or certain status effects can cause Henry to have a lingering smell that doesn’t go away with regular washing. Even if no debuffs show up, the game might still treat Henry as smelly. Picking flowers is a neat idea, but I’d also check if any quest-related items or effects could be causing this. Otherwise, waiting or reloading might reset the issue temporarily.
One thing to double check is that you’re washing and repairing the exact outfit and weapons you use while sneaking. Sometimes players wash one set of clothes but sneak in another, so the sneaking gear stays smelly. Also, make sure you have enough soap in your inventory because without soap, laundry won’t help much. If you haven’t already, try visiting the bathhouse while wearing the sneaking outfit directly to clean it thoroughly.
I’ve run into the same problem before and it turned out to be a bug with the game not properly resetting the smell status after bathing or cleaning. The only fix I found was to use perfume, which is annoying but pretty much the only reliable option. Hopefully the developers patch this soon because it definitely impacts how stealthy you can be.
