I’m getting into some gaming and noticed something odd while playing Dead by Daylight (DBD). I run the game at high settings with 120 fps, and my GPU temperature reaches about 70°C. However, when I switch over to Battlefield 1, which is generally regarded as a heavier game, I’m consistently getting around 165 fps and my GPU stays much cooler at 55-60°C. I’m really trying to wrap my head around why a game like DBD, which seems smaller in scale, is putting so much more strain on my GPU compared to BF1. Any insights?

Keep in mind that Battlefield games can be more CPU-intensive. If your CPU is bottlenecking your GPU performance, that could lead to the higher temperatures in DBD. What’s your setup like, by the way?
One thing to check is whether your GPU is hitting full utilization while you play both games. If DBD is maxing out your GPU but BF1 isn’t, that would explain the higher temps for DBD. Sometimes, it’s not just about the graphics but how well the game uses your hardware.
I usually don’t check the usage stats, just the basics like temp and clock speeds. But yeah, it’s really weird to see DBD pulling more GPU power while BF1 is running cooler.
I’ve got a Ryzen 5 2600 running at 3.40 GHz and an RX6600M GPU with 8GB. So maybe that’s a factor?
