I was playing in a lively server recently, and I couldn’t help but notice how much faster some players were killing enemies during events like Eviction Notice. I’m at level 150, using the Valkyrie gatling laser with perk cards for damage, but it took me what felt like 50 shots to take down a super mutant. Meanwhile, a level 400 player next to me was annihilating them instantly. It made me wonder if I’m missing something. Are there specific perk cards I should be using besides Expert and Master Heavy Gunner? Do I need certain mutations? Does weapon damage scale with higher levels? What about legendary perks? I just want to feel useful in events, daily ops, or even raids!

It’s actually much easier now to create powerful builds thanks to recent updates. Some perk cards now work with weapons that they didn’t used to, opening up a variety of viable builds. Shotgunner perks, for example, now apply to rifles too!
Maxing out your perk loadout is essential! Most people really ramp up their builds at level 300 when you unlock the six legendary perk card slots. A common setup is using Furious weapons along with Guerrilla and Gunslinger perks for stacking damage. Also, consider the Down Ranger and Bloody Mess perks for extra damage boosts. Don’t forget to check your weapon mods for VATS improvements, too!
I had no idea there was so much to consider! This info is super helpful.
A lot of players use fully optimized crit builds, which can make a huge difference in killing speed. Check out YouTube channels like Angry Turtle or Glass Gaming for some good strategies to learn from!
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll check them out to improve my game.
Does this build work well against all enemy types, or is it more suited for PvE?
If you’re using heavy guns, max out all heavy gunner perks and consider other cards like Adrenaline and Adrenal Reaction for more damage boosts. If you target weak spots, tweak your perk cards accordingly. You might also want to try a Pepper Shaker build for success, as it’s pretty popular right now!
I appreciate the tips! I’ve just been having fun with random weapons, but I think it’s time for a more focused approach.
One major issue with heavy guns like the Valkyrie is the spin-up time. Other weapon types can fire shot after shot before your gun even starts firing. For events, you might want to try a .50 cal or LMG for better DPS and no spin-up time. If you’re using VATS, consider the plasma caster too.
That makes sense! I noticed that spin-up time was a killer. Gonna try out those other weapons.
Wow, that’s awesome! It seems like there’s a better variety of effective weapons these days.
