I started playing Rocket League after trading was removed, so I missed out on that aspect entirely. It seems like every time there’s an update, people are clamoring for the return of trading, often linking their frustrations with the game to its absence. I see constant complaints about the game being less enjoyable now because you can’t trade items, even though the gameplay hasn’t changed. There are mentions of trading scams and negative experiences, but I’m curious about the actual benefits trading provided. Coming from Warframe, where trading is used for both helping new players and profiting, I wonder why trading is so valued in Rocket League, which primarily features cosmetic items. What do you all think?

People enjoy trading because it adds a fun element to acquiring items. You can exchange things with friends or other players and get that excitement of negotiating for what you want.
Many players believe the removal of trading was unjustified. Just because the game still plays well doesn’t mean players forget that a once-loved feature was taken away. Even if the aesthetics don’t affect gameplay, emotional connections to features matter. Trading allowed players to find value in their items and gift friends unique cosmetics.
When I began playing, I had very few items and constantly wanted cool decals and toppers that my friends had. Trading allowed me to get those items from friends who had extras, which made my experience much more enjoyable.
Trading was removed for a reason, but a lot of players felt it diminished the game’s community aspects. It wasn’t just about the items; it was also about the interactions.
