I’ve been playing this game on PC using a controller, but sometimes I switch to keyboard and mouse at work. I’ve noticed that the way skills work is different between the two. On keyboard and mouse, I can only use a targetable skill when I’m hovering over an enemy, unless I hold Shift to use the skill in place (like ‘Hold Position’). However, when I use a controller, the skill activates no matter if there are enemies around or not. I feel like I’m missing a setting or something. Is there a way to change this? Otherwise, I might have no choice but to stick with keyboard and mouse.

Yeah, that’s one of the known downsides of using a controller. Some skills are essentially blind-firing, and you can’t target specific enemies when using them. Unfortunately, there’s no setting to change that. However, they are working on making keyboard and mouse compatible with console in the next patch, so you might get to use those perks if you switch over!
Exactly! That’s why I prefer skills that don’t require targeting, like lightning spears or melee-focused skills like Hammer of the Ancients.
Wait, I want the opposite! I want to use skills from my basic skill slot without targeting anything.
