I’ve noticed that some players constantly move back and forth rapidly, like maybe 10 times in just seven seconds. I’m curious if this rapid movement affects the chance of being hit, like does it help avoid penetration or something? Can anyone explain the reasoning behind this?

Yeah, there are definitely multiple reasons! It decreases the chances of getting hit on weak points, and can even bait shots into your tracks instead of your hull. Ultimately, it adds a layer of difficulty for the enemy to land their shots.
Definitely helps with evading artillery too, making it harder for them to get a lock on. It can also create opportunities for other teammates to take shots at the enemy. It’s a mix of strategy and a bit of showmanship, as some just enjoy doing the ‘shitter shuffle’ for fun.
They’re typically trying to bait shots, hoping that an enemy will fire at a weird angle, which can cause the shot to bounce off their armor. By moving like that, they can potentially hit the front plate at a bad angle and trick the enemy into missing completely.
It’s also about dodging shots to protect weak spots. When they’re jerking back and forth, it can throw off an enemy’s aim while changing the angle of their lower plate, increasing the chance of ricochets, especially from heavy tanks. Some players even do this behind cover, often without realizing it.
