I want to talk about the Torc of The Last Ayleid King and why it seems to get such a bad rap from some players. I came across several videos and posts claiming this mythic item is only for beginners or not viable against meta sets, which I absolutely disagree with. I’ve been using it on my Dragon Knight (DK) and honestly believe it’s one of the best options for a frontline or brawl playstyle. The synergy with corrosive armor negates the downsides of gear and weapon damage, making it a strong choice in PvP. I’m curious if people write it off simply due to elitist attitudes, even though I think it’s the best PvP mythic out there. Anyone else feel strongly about this mythic?

I think the Torc is fantastic for Necromancers too! It’s a bit lacking in penetration, which you can compensate for with double sharpened maces and the Lover mundus stone. The 15% damage reduction stacks super well with Spirit Guardian, and the recovery stats it offers are phenomenal.
I actually prefer it this way because the grind for it took some serious effort, and I don’t want to see it nerfed because of that!
Whenever my other PvP builds don’t perform, or if I’m not really in the mood for complexity, I turn to the Torc and it never disappoints! It really is a gold standard for PvP builds; just tweak the armor weight and enchants to your playstyle, and you’re all set!
The Torc is definitely solid! I use it on my characters for PvP, and while it might not be the flashiest option, I’d argue it’s still S-tier. You could combo it with Contingency to really pack a punch in your burst setup! It may lack those big flashy multi-kills, but it’s amazing for tanking and putting pressure on opponents without needing to be a pure damage dealer.
In group fights, having players who can withstand damage is crucial, so Torc does its job well, letting you create space while your team finishes off targets. I swear people overlook the importance of utility in PvP.
Totally agree! People are too focused on getting kills rather than considering how to contribute through survivability and pressure. You can make a build centered on crowd control and still impact the match massively!
Honestly, I think a lot of players ignore it because it just doesn’t have much use in PvE. Most discussions out there are centered on PvE content, and since this mythic shines mainly in PvP, it’s often overlooked. If you’re not a PvP player, it’s understandable why you wouldn’t hear much about it.
The grind is real, but people just need to embrace the mini-games involved! I only had to tackle one arc multiple times alongside some goblin challenges and managed to get it without too much hassle.
