I’ve been an Xbox fan since the 360 era, but since getting my new-gen Xbox, I’ve had a tough time. I’ve gone through five controllers that broke, mainly because the plastic seems to crack when I press the buttons. I’ve never experienced this kind of issue with my Xbox One or 360 controllers. I recently bought a PS5, and the difference in build quality is noticeable. Has anyone else faced issues with their new controllers?

Honestly, if you’ve gone through that many controllers, it might be on you. I’m still using the one that came with my Xbox from 2022 without any issues. Just a thought!
I’ve had two Xbox controllers break on me too. Honestly, if you look into third-party options, you can find some that are cheaper and higher quality than the default ones.
If the plastic around the buttons is breaking, maybe you’re pressing too hard. Stick drift happens, but physical damage is often a user issue. Maybe ease up on the grip during intense gaming sessions!
There are reports of Xbox controllers having issues with the trigger stops, especially the right one. If that’s affecting you, check out some tutorials online for easy fixes!
I’ve been gaming for over 30 years and I’ve never had a controller break on me! Sounds like you might be handling them a bit too roughly? I’ve had issues with stick drift in recent models, but physical breakage is a different story.
I hadn’t experienced breakages until the stick drift issues, but I have seen controllers fail over time. I’ve had issues with my Switch Joy-Cons and even some PS4 controllers. So far, my PS5 and Xbox controllers are holding up well.
Some gamers have that ‘gamer rage’ where they grip controllers super tightly! It can definitely wear them out faster.
