A few weeks ago, my friends shared a screenshot from a game lobby showing someone with the exact same PSN as me. We were both playing the same game, but at completely different levels. We initially thought it was just a glitch. However, this happened again today, and it has me worried because the PSNs were identical, down to the capital letters. I logged into the PS website, signed out of all devices, and changed my password, but I only see my PS5 linked to my account. Is this a common glitch? Should I reach out to Sony about this? I haven’t noticed any unauthorized charges or unfamiliar games, but I’m still a bit anxious about the situation.

What game were you playing? If it’s something like COD, it could lead to weird interactions. I’ve heard of instances where players impersonate others, so stay alert and maybe check if others have had similar issues.
It’s possible that the game you were playing supports cross-play, which could lead to confusion with similar usernames. Maybe check if crossplay is enabled in your game settings. If it is, that could explain the overlap.
