Hey everyone, I’m really confused and frustrated about my recent experiences with voice chat on Roblox. I keep getting banned every few minutes, no matter the game I’m in. Just today, I joined a 17+ game and said hi to a player, asked to be friends, and then answered a question about what city I’m from. Out of nowhere, I was called some really racist names and then got suspended from voice chat immediately! I didn’t respond with anything myself.
This was one of the first times I’ve used the voice chat after a break, and I ended up being banned about five times today! Just to give you context, I’m very careful with what I say—I don’t swear or use any bad language at all, especially since I’ve had issues with moderation in the past.
Is it really a violation of the terms of service to say where you’re from? I’m over 18 and verified, so I’m just trying to make sense of why this keeps happening. Strangely enough, my friend was in the same chat and used profanity without any consequences. I could really use some help figuring out why I’m getting banned so often. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

The Roblox Terms of Service can be tricky, especially regarding location and personal info. In 17+ games, it’s a bit of a gray area. You can generally curse if it’s not aimed at someone, but if you’re in VC and talking about where you live, it could raise flags. Just best to avoid those topics altogether for now.
It sounds like Roblox’s automatic moderation is really strict right now and sometimes bans users for no clear reason. Many people have noticed it happening randomly, so you may just be a victim of that. It’s frustrating, but you’re not alone in this. Maybe try to limit sharing information that could be seen as personal, like your location, just to be safe.
Yeah, it really is a bummer. Hopefully, they can update their system to be more fair!
Thank you! I’ll definitely avoid mentioning my location when chatting.
