I recently bought the AMX 30B and, contrary to what some say, I find it performs pretty well. I usually average around 2,000 damage and 600 to 1,000 assistance per game. However, no matter the situation, I end up losing credits after matches. I never use gold ammo, so that’s not the issue. When I play other tanks like the Batchat or the 430U and achieve similar results, I usually make a profit of 20k+ credits. Does anyone know why the AMX 30B seems to burn credits more than those tanks?

You might be mixing the AMX 30B (tier 10) with the AMX 30 (tier 9). Some players prefer the tier 9 version because it’s a bit more forgiving credit-wise. But both tanks can be good in their own right. If your damage numbers are similar but you’re losing credits more in the 30B, it could be due to higher repair costs or maybe your gameplay style leads to more damage taken?
This tank has been around for a while and it feels like it’s been left behind a bit. Compared to other top-tier meds like the Action X or Leopard 1 (which have similar guns), the AMX 30B’s credit economy seems worse. I’ve noticed that even after good games, I lose credits more often in this tank. Honestly, maybe it just needs a little love from the devs to improve that. I don’t mind using premium ammo often, but it still feels stingy financially.
From my experience, the AMX 30B isn’t a terrible tank, but compared to other tier 10 meds, it can feel a bit rough financially. I run mine with a DPM setup—bonds, vents, rammer, and Vstab—and it helps a lot. The turret armor is decent except for that annoying cupola spot, which can be a pain. Even so, if you’re losing credits consistently, it might be linked to repair costs or less efficient damage compared to other tanks.
Yeah, the credits drain is what bugs me the most. Even in games where I do solid damage, I end up down credits for some reason.
Nope, I’m definitely using the tier 10 AMX 30B and it performs alright. Just that the credit flow is frustrating.
