I’m having an issue with my kid’s Xbox Series S where the games appear zoomed in, but the Xbox UI itself seems fine when navigating menus. I’ve checked both the TV and Xbox video settings, and nothing has worked so far. For clarity, this zoomed-in effect happens only during gameplay, such as in Roblox games, Payday, and Terraria. It was fine on the original Xbox One, and I’ve looked at the TV settings again, but there’s no resolution or aspect ratio options. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

If the zoomed-in issue only occurs during gameplay and not on the home screen, there might be game-specific settings influencing this. I’ve seen that some games can have their own zoom settings independent of console or TV settings. It might be worth checking those, especially in Roblox
Have you checked if the magnifier feature is enabled on the Xbox settings? That could sometimes cause an issue like this. Also, make sure your resolution settings on the Xbox match your display properly.
Sounds like a classic case of TV overscan, which can make the image seem zoomed in. Depending on your TV, there might be a setting for adjusting the aspect ratio or turning off overscan. Have a look through your TV’s menus for any zoom or stretch options.
It’s even more than an inch—it almost covers 2 inches on each side! The Xbox menus are fine, though, which makes it even weirder.
I checked, and the magnifier is turned off. The TV worked fine with the original Xbox One. I’m starting to think it might be the TV’s 720p resolution or possibly the HDMI cable since the Xbox UI looks normal.
