I’ve been wondering about something I’ve seen a lot in videos lately related to Mirage’s abilities in Apex Legends. I recently played a couple of matches where I was using a Phoenix Kit while cloaked, but in two separate games, enemies ran straight up to me and took me out. I was under the impression they couldn’t see me once I activated the cloak, but they seemed to know exactly where I was. I’m curious if they can hear me healing or if there are other signs that give away my position while I’m cloaked. What’s the deal?

Cloaking isn’t completely invisible. Good players can still see you if they’re looking closely enough. So, it makes sense they found you quickly when you were healing.
Yeah, I don’t think the healing stickers go invisible either, plus the audio cues are pretty strong. It’s not a foolproof escape plan.
Any half-decent player can pick up on the sound of healing. That’s often a dead giveaway when you’re trying to stay hidden.
You’re definitely audible when using your abilities, and if you’ve triggered your ult, skilled players can guess your location based on where the decoys are. Plus, visible elements like your shield can give you away too, especially if an enemy legend like Revenant is nearby—they can spot you more easily.
I had an Ash hunt me down when I was cloaked. The cloak has its tricks, but it’s not without its flaws.
Every ability has its pros and cons. While Mirage’s cloak can be helpful, you can definitely hear him when he’s healing up. It’s just one of those things to be aware of when using his abilities.
That makes sense! I haven’t come across a lot of healing Mirages, so I appreciate the insight!
