I’ve had a frustrating experience where all of my Xbox clips recently vanished, even though they were saved to my console and not online. All that remains in my captures are some screenshots. To make matters worse, the clips that were on the Xbox network are gone too, and I’m not sure what happened. Has anyone else dealt with this? I had some of those clips for nearly a year, and suddenly they’ve all disappeared in the past week.

If you’re worried about losing your clips in the future, I suggest backing them up to OneDrive or something similar. Xbox clips are gone after 90 days, but if you keep them backed up, you won’t have to stress about storage issues.
So, it’s important to know that clips uploaded to the Xbox network get deleted after 90 days. If your clips were stored locally on the console, they shouldn’t expire, but they live on a hidden section of your storage. Once that storage starts filling up, Xbox will begin clearing out older videos since they take up more space than screenshots. That’s probably why your clips disappeared first.
I ran into a similar issue! Those clips can definitely get deleted if you’re running low on space and don’t monitor storage regularly. I recommend using an external USB drive. It not only gives you more space but also saves your clips safely.
