Why Did My PlayStation Turn On By Itself in the Middle of the Night?

So, my PlayStation unexpectedly turned on in the middle of the night, completed a system update, and then went back into rest mode. Does anyone know why this happened? Is my console haunted or something? Thanks in advance for your help!

It sounds like your PlayStation just performed a normal system update while in rest mode. If you have automatic updates enabled, it’s working as it should! You can turn off this feature in the settings if you don’t want it happening again.

Yeah, your rest mode is doing exactly what it’s supposed to. Mine had a similar experience recently. Just make sure you check your update settings if you’re not a fan of surprises during the night!
