I’m curious about the game’s endings, especially the part where we have to choose how to deal with Oberon. It seems like if I’ve met the prerequisites to poison Oberon, I should be able to do that and then also destroy it. I mean, wouldn’t that make more players happy with the ending choices? I feel like the whole ‘double-tap’ idea could really fit here if we could appease characters like Garrow, Sims, and even the Voice on the Telephone. Any thoughts on why this option isn’t available?

You can actually do all the actions in one go: take the sample and destroy it right after! However, when it comes to saving those three before confronting Oberon, it seems you need to be more strategic with your decisions.
Yeah, I’ve heard that too from others. It looks like it’s designed to default to whatever outcome your first action leads to, so it’s either one or the other.
Exactly! If I decided to poison it, there’s no way to blow it up afterwards. It really seems like a missed opportunity for additional gameplay.
I wanted to do the same! From what I’ve read, it seems like there used to be a way to download data from the dam and delete it both, but that changed in a patch. It might be that they wanted a clearer storyline, but it does feel limiting sometimes.
I hear you! It can be confusing. I even ran into issues trying to find Tanner for an ending; you have to dig for that kind of information online sometimes!
I think the game’s endings focus more on the method of escaping rather than who you escape with. For instance, teaming up with Sims is about using him for your escape instead of just saving him. It seems like they designed it this way deliberately.
Totally agree! It feels like you should be able to find a way to satisfy both Sims and Garrow, especially since the game has such an open approach to choices. It felt a bit rushed not allowing those options.
Yeah, but still, the option to poison and destroy at the same time just isn’t there, which is frustrating.
