I’ve been thinking about something that’s kind of baffling. As a PlayStation gamer, I really enjoy customizing my profile with cool avatars. Back in the PS4 days, I had a sick Ghostface mask avatar that got a lot of compliments. People would often ask me how I found it on the PS Store. But since the PS5 launched, there’s no way to buy new avatars. I really miss that feature and wonder why Sony hasn’t brought it back. I can only imagine the awesome avatars that could be available now! Anyone else feel the same?

Actually, you can upload any picture as your avatar for free using the PS app on your phone. It’s just your profile picture that’s customizable, but for in-game avatars, it’s a different story.
I get that! It would be nice to have some variety. I just wish the pictures you upload as avatars weren’t limited to friends only. It’d be cool to flex some unique pics publicly.
Honestly, I’m kind of relieved there’s no option to buy them. They could add more for free instead! I remember back when LittleBigPlanet 2 was released, I used a Sackboy avatar and stuck with it ever since. Can’t remember how they worked back on PS3, though!
Totally agree! I’m glad I kept my old account. I’ve unlocked and bought around a hundred avatars, including some classic Final Fantasy ones. They need to bring back that option for PS5.
Yeah, but I think the in-game avatars are separate from that. I just want to buy some cool new ones to show off when I game, not just a profile pic.
