I’ve been using the Eruptor weapon in Super Hearth, and I read that it has high armor penetration. However, I’m struggling to kill enemies with high armor like striders or Titans. Why does the Eruptor seem ineffective against these tougher foes despite its armor penetration? Any tips or explanations would be appreciated.

Honestly, the Eruptor has been nerfed pretty hard over time. It used to be better at punching through armor, but now it’s kind of been brought down to be more of a mid-tier option rather than a heavy hitter against tanks.
Yeah, to add on: only the bullet and shrapnel are AP4, but the explosion does less — around AP3 in the center and only AP2 at the edges. Since the explosion is where most of the damage lands, the Eruptor isn’t really designed to be an anti-tank weapon.
The Eruptor’s bullet itself has high armor penetration, but the explosion and shrapnel do not. This means it can chunk down weaker foes like hulks pretty well, but when it comes to big armored enemies like striders or Titans, it struggles because most of the damage comes from the explosion and shrapnel, which have lower penetration values.
Honestly, the Eruptor’s strength is in hitting medium armored enemies, not the big tanks. It’s great for shredding light enemies or hitting groups where the shrapnel can maximize damage. Using terrain to your advantage to funnel or cluster enemies can really help get the most out of its splash damage.
Keep in mind that while it has decent armor penetration, the overall damage output and durability of Eruptor shots don’t compare to the health pools of heavy enemies. It’s just not built to one-shot or rapidly down tanks.
Thanks for clarifying! I’ll adjust my expectations and maybe switch weapons when facing very high armor foes.
That makes a lot of sense! I was focusing on tough tanks and was wondering why it felt weak. I’ll try aiming for groups of smaller enemies instead.
