I was playing a game through Game Pass on Xbox earlier, and after renewing my subscription, it’s now telling me I need to buy the game instead of letting me play it. Everything I find online says it’s available. I’ve tried to report the issue, but there’s no option for that, and Xbox support seems swamped. I’m really looking forward to playing again, but this is frustrating since I’m not sure what’s going on.

Both my roommate and I got the game off Game Pass—one on PC and the other on Xbox. If you look up the game on PC, it should have a green banner at the top indicating it’s available through Game Pass.
Also, I’ve run into issues like this when there were network problems. Last year, our connection was so bad it was timing out with Game Pass, so running a network test on your Xbox might help!
If it’s a network issue, that’s weird since I’m using an ethernet cable and all my other games work fine online. Am I missing something?
Hey, what level of Game Pass do you have? You need Game Pass Ultimate on console, and for PC, it’s either Ultimate or PC Game Pass to access all the games. Just a thought!
Oh no way, I switched from Ultimate to Standard, so that’s probably it for me!
Thanks for the tip!
I’m using the Xbox launcher, and I haven’t had any problems accessing it through Game Pass. Maybe it’s a hiccup on your end?
Yeah, it could still be something else—sometimes those issues can be tricky.
