I’m having a frustrating issue with my Xbox Series X. My internet is out, and I can’t play any of my disc games offline, which is something I was able to do in the past. For instance, I could always play Tony Hawk 1 & 2 without any problems, but now when I try to load it, it just takes me to the store and asks me to connect to the internet. I have the physical disc, so I’m not sure what’s going on. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

It sounds like your disc drive might be having trouble recognizing the disc. If it’s not reading it properly, you might want to try cleaning the disc and see if that helps. Sometimes dirt or scratches can cause issues too!
Honestly, some disc games require internet connection just for verification. A lot of modern games, like Call of Duty, come with massive updates that aren’t even on the disc itself, which can be a real pain when you’re offline!
You might need to reconnect to the internet for initial verification, even with disc games. Some games need online access for updates or to validate ownership, especially if you’ve deleted the game data recently. That could be what’s holding you back!
Ah, that makes sense! I did delete Tony Hawk to free up space for an update… I guess I really need to be more mindful of that!
I did clean it, and it recognizes the disc—it just keeps directing me to the store!
