Why Can't I Play My PS4 Minecraft on PS5?

I have Minecraft on my PS4, but I’m having trouble playing it on my PS5. Every time I try to launch the PS4 version, it only lets me access a trial version. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any advice on how to resolve it?

That sounds frustrating! Sometimes it might just be a glitch. My old PS4 copy works fine on my PS5, but I’ve heard that some versions can act up. I’d recommend reaching out to tech support to see if they can help you out with this issue.

I’m not entirely sure about the PS4’s compatibility with PS5, but I vaguely remember that they aren’t fully backwards compatible. That might explain why you’re only seeing the trial version. Just to be safe, double-check your game library and make sure you’re launching the full game!
