I just upgraded to a new AMD GPU, but now I can’t open Steam. I’m getting an error that indicates there’s an X error, and it looks like I’m missing some libraries. Can anyone help me figure this out? Thanks!

It sounds like you might need to share the terminal output or specify what you’ve installed so far. That would help us get to the bottom of this more easily!
The error message you mentioned, ‘An X Error Occurred: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation),’ might be related to your configuration. What Linux distribution are you using, and how did you install Steam? That information could help troubleshoot further!
I figured out my issue—I had some NVIDIA settings still lingering in my Hyprland config. Once I removed those, it fixed the problem for me! Don’t forget to check your config files for any leftover settings.
Thanks for the tip! I think I’ll do that next.
I installed the AMD packages from the Arch Wiki and made sure to remove all the NVIDIA stuff.
